Front Porch Guests

As I opened the door this morning to get the newspaper off the front porch, I noticed a lot of  debris on the rug. It took me only a moment to realize that we had front porch visitors- a bird's nest on top of the grape vines just above the doorway. I grabbed a chair to take some pictures and could hear birds angrily chirping at me from nearby trees.

Weeds or a Plant?

I saw these as I was going into a meeting at the Vista Center this afternoon. As usual, the minute I try to take a macro the wind starts up.

Eighteen Blooms

I am amazed that my Christmas Cactus has 18 blooms on it. I wonder if the late spring has an impact on house plants. I've never had this many blooms this late in the year. In fact, usually by now this plant has finished blooming till November.

Half and Half

We have two Honey Locust trees in the front yard. This year half of one tree has tiny green shoots and the other half has nothing yet. Strange.

Mother's Day

Not a good year for Mother's Day this year, but having all the grandkids and kids visit certainly helped. Wendy was sick so we visited on the phone.

A special gift from the Stettlers.
