Let the Wild Rumpus Start!

Where the Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak, was a staple of our reading material when my children were young.  It is also one of my most favorite books.  I have given each of my adult children their own copy.  Hopefully they are reading it to my grandchildren.  I was surprised to find it made into a movie recently, but disappointed to find that it is not appropriate for young children, as I wanted to take them all.  I'll be going to see it soon.

But the wild things cried, "Oh please don't go - we'll eat you up - we love you so!" And Max said, "No!"

An Old Barn and Weeds

This old barn sits behind Knowlton Elementary in Farmington - sort of.  The only access, it seems, is pulling over on the off-ramp of Hwy 89, just before Shepards Lane, then traipsing through weeds.

Someone once said that a weed is no more than a flower in disguise.  These weeds are interesting, but I would not call them "flowers."

Twilight

New Moon, from the Twilight book series by Stephanie Meyer, comes out in theatres soon.  Although they are not my most favorite pendants to make, they've been a big hit at the store, especially with the teen/pre-teens.

No Shade Here

A funky shadeless lamp shade hangs above me as I work in my studio.  Lots of my favorite things hang from it, such as an old skate key, cloth measuring tape and vintage prisms.

The Red Toaster

My Aunt Nelda gave me a wonderful red and stainless steel toaster to go in the new kitchen.

The Best Baked Potato

Jason's Deli in Layton makes the best, and biggest, baked potatoes. This one is their Pollo Mexicano, which is marinated chicken breast, sour cream, homemade pico, cheddar and spices.  I add cottage cheese to mine. One potato will last me three meals.

Jamba Juice Every Day

I've had the flu this week, and the only thing that sounds good is a Jamba Juice.  So for the last three days, this is what I've had for dinner.
