Little By Little Quilt Group

Our annual  Little by Little quilt group Christmas party was tonight at Kaye Evans house.  As always, we had an evening filled with laughter and good food.  A few of us have been in the group since it was formed in 1994. Because I haven't been president since our second year, I reluctantly agreed to do it for next.

Kaye decided to simplify this year.  She cut down a wonderful Charlie Brown tree from the hundreds on her property and we all loved it.  She invited us to come over and cut down a tree of our own!

I wanted to give these special gals a gift, so I created a little "initial" pendant for each of them.  The picture on the front represents something about each of them, with their initial on the back.

A Great "Time"

Some of the gals from the accounting department were getting together to create some watch bracelets after work today.  They were so nice to involve Cathy and I.

This is the watch bracelet I created.

Maddox Ranch House

Maddox is located in Brigham City and is known for its wonderful food.  It's always busy, no matter when you go.  We went tonight for the Clinton City Planning Commission's annual Christmas dinner, always held at Maddox.  We could order whatever we wanted.  I ordered the halibut, which was enough for three meals.

Transferring Data

I have a few hard drives.  I recently purchased a terabyte hard drive as a back up to my blue 500 GB backup, which holds all my photos...My first hard drive is the black 160 GB which I still use for all my jewelry designs.  You'll also see in the photo my IPOD. I am transferring all my songs to the terabyte.  Also pictured is my clunky old hard drive from work, and I am working on transferring all my data and photos to the TB.  Also, sitting on my laptop is a 4 GB memory card for my camera.

In the late 1980s, the average home computer system had a single hard drive with a capacity of about 20 megabytes. By the mid 1990s, average capacity increased to about 80 MBs. Just a few years later, operating systems alone required more room than this, whle several hundred megabytes represented an average storage capacity.

1 gigabyte of memory is the equivalent of 500,000 typewriten pages, or about one pickup truck of books.
1,048,576 megabytes = 1 terabyte (a terabyte is a thousand librarians driving Ford F150's stacked with literature...)

Snowmen Fall From the Sky...Unassembled

Getting out the Christmas decorations is like reuniting with old friends.

My favorite buddy.  He reminds me of the old storybook.

The Mantle

It took all my energy to get the mantle decorated for Christmas.  I love having a double shelf for some of the Santa collection.

1920s Radio

This radio sits in the entryway and is in pretty good condition.  It belonged to a great uncle. A few watermarks appeared after it was placed in the entryway when the kids, when they were little, would shake off their snowy coats.  It still works, but we don't play it, as it is very expensive to replace the old bulbs.
