Scrooge

Scrooge is playing at the Roger's Memorial Theatre in Centerville, and there are some people in our district who directed and performed.  I suggested to Cathy Larsen that we go, and we were so glad that Joni High came with us!  We all had a bowl of soup at Chili's beforehand.

While waiting for the sound check to be completed we wandered down the hall, looking at all the wonderful black and white photos lining the walls.  I spotted this grouping of "fake food" just inside the door next to the restrooms and snapped this shot just before someone spotted us and quickly closed the door.  The food was used during the production.

Here's a shot of the stage.  Lester Lee, who is an incredible local artist and teaches at Woods Cross High, was in charge of the scenery.

It's Only a Matter of Time...Before We Turn into our Parents

I found these glass coasters during the after-Christmas sales last year.  I created the pictures and Diamond Glazed to adhere. These went into the shop this week.  The "I want to return my baggage" sold immediately with a request to make another.  These are some of my favorite funnies and were previously made into pendants.

"Drink Caffeine. Do stupid things faster with more energy."
"When did our wild oats turn into shredded wheat?"
"Her tiara can get a little itchy."

"It's only a matter of time...before we turn into our parents."  Too true, so I had to make a necklace out of it.

Another Christmas Cactus

I've had this Christmas Cactus for a number of years and it is always true to its name and blooms during the Christmas season.  The basket in front is one that I weaved, soaking the reeds and all, years ago.

Soldering Work Station

Here's a portion of my work station for soldering.  I create the designs on the computer, print off, place between two pieces of glass (that I cut). They are then copper-taped, flux is applied, then soldered with silver solder, using my favorite tool: my soldering gun, which is heated to 700 degrees.

Saturday Night

Last Christmas I picked up some "paint-your-own" ornaments for the grandboys.  Jonah, Ez and Hazel came by while their parents did some Christmas shopping tonight.  Jonah and Ez really enjoyed painting their snowman ornaments and creating original designs on the balls.  Just need to get Weston's out to him.

Here's Hazel with her cute black keds.

Carved Friends

Old friends, these carved creations.  I whittled these years ago while taking a class in wood carving.

Little By Little Quilt Group

Our annual  Little by Little quilt group Christmas party was tonight at Kaye Evans house.  As always, we had an evening filled with laughter and good food.  A few of us have been in the group since it was formed in 1994. Because I haven't been president since our second year, I reluctantly agreed to do it for next.

Kaye decided to simplify this year.  She cut down a wonderful Charlie Brown tree from the hundreds on her property and we all loved it.  She invited us to come over and cut down a tree of our own!

I wanted to give these special gals a gift, so I created a little "initial" pendant for each of them.  The picture on the front represents something about each of them, with their initial on the back.
