The school district has purchased a new web program. Our department's responsibility is to understand how the program works, migrate all the present department sites into new sites for each department, prepare and teach the program. My main responsibility has been to create sections and channels for each department and to create the new technology website. I will be responsible for a lot of the troubleshooting as departments and schools come on board. It's been a bit challenging, since Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Schoolwires has crashed. The architecture of this new web program is very different from the former one, which I could troubleshoot with my eyes closed. And words such as channels, migration, sections...have taken on new meanings - it's like learning a new language!

I was once in the same situation. Back in 2005 the Denton schools switched to Schoolwires, and it was my responsibility as webmaster to implement it and train our staff. At first it was a matter of learning a new way of doing things, but eventually I came to really like the product - mostly because our staff loved it. Eventually I left Denton, and now I am the Product Manager for Schoolwires. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your experience a positive one.

Don't you have to love the product since you work for them? I think she makes a very good point!
It's the other way around: I work for them because I love the product. Love came first.
And yes, you are correct - she makes a great point. I'm just sharing my story to add to the conversation. I hope it was beneficial.
